The EU-funded project FOODITY has launched its 1st Open Call to fund data-driven solutions aimed at promoting innovation in the field of food and nutrition. This Open Call focuses on three key areas: personalised food and nutrition, sustainable food systems, shopping experiences, and one open challenge.

FOODITY is seeking organizations with expertise in both technical and social innovation, as well as knowledge in citizen engagement to develop pilot projects. The following types of entities are encouraged to participate:

  1. Small or Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and startups
  2. Social Innovation Actors (SIAs)
  3. Research and Technology Organizations (RTOs) and universities
  4. Training organizations

Participating FOODITY innovators selected for the pilot development program will benefit from various support, including:

  • Funding of up to €187,500.
  • Access to technology and technical support.
  • Business mentoring and group coaching.
  • Training in technical, business, and legal aspects.

The chosen pilot project proposals are expected to offer innovative solutions to address ongoing research and technical challenges that align with the priorities of Food 2030, the European Union’s policy for research and innovation to create improved food systems by 2030.

The Call is open until November 8, 2023 (17:00 CET).
