On November 6, 2024, the Scientific and Innovation Partnership Assistance Center (SIPAC) in cooperation with Agency for Promotion of European Science (APRE, Italy) and National Academy of Sciences of RA has held a training session dedicated to the preparation of applications for the EU’s Horizon Europe programme. Organized in the framework of the EU NCP_WIDERA.NET project, this event aimed to enhance the capacities of Armenian research and innovation organizations and individual researchers in the preparation of Horizon Europe project proposals.

The event began with welcome speeches from Mr. Tigran Arzumanyan, Chairman of SIPAC, and Ms. Katarzyna Buszkiewicz-Seferyńska, NCP_WIDERA.NET Project Coordinator (NCBR, Poland). Ms. Buszkiewicz-Seferyńska provided an overview of the NCP_WIDERA.NET project, emphasizing the tools and resources available to support applicants in the proposal preparation process.

Owing to the invited expert from Italy, Ms. Federica Tanghetti (APRE), the participants gained valuable knowladge on the application process and practical insights into the preparation of Horizon Europe proposals. Ms. Tanghetti provided detailed guidance on proposals structure, aligning it with evaluation criteria, and emphasized key elements to enhance competitiveness.

Additionally, attendees received comprehensive information on the upcoming Horizon Europe calls and the various opportunities for participation through a detailed presentation delivered by Mr. Tigran Arzumanyan. His presentation outlined the key focus areas, objectives, and strategic priorities of the forthcoming calls, providing participants guidance on how to align their research initiatives and proposals to maximize the chances of success.

Mr. Alen Amirkhanyan, Director of the Acopian Center for the Environment at AUA, also shared their experience of coordinating Horizon Europe projects by presenting OTTERS and STREAKS projects and providing participants with practical examples of successful proposal submission and management.

The event was attended by approximately 40 participants from varous Armenian organizations, who shared highly positive feedback on the session.
