The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) invites applications for the “UI-Gleich” funding opportunity. This initiative aims at fostering research and innovation projects in collaboration with countries of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia.

The funding opportunity supports Horizon Europe applicants in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating Gender Equality Plans and prioritizes international exploratory and networking measures, facilitating projects such as exploratory trips, workshops, events related to Gender Equality Plans, and networking activities for female scientists.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • The project outline must be submitted by a German institution in collaboration with at least one or more research institutions from at least one of the five Eastern Partnership countries (including Armenia).
  • While participation from partners in the specified countries is required, involvement from further third-country partners is generally allowed.
  • The German-language project outline should include information on the project coordinator, German and foreign project partners, project objectives, state of the art in science and technology, utilization/application possibilities, estimated costs, and an informative summary.

Funding Details

  • Grants are awarded as non-repayable subsidies, generally up to a maximum of €40,000 per project for a period of 12 to 24 months.

Deadline

  • The procedure involves two stages. In the first stage, project outlines must be submitted by 24 April 2024, via the electronic outline tool easy-Online“.
