The European Commission has adopted the main Horizon Europe Work Programme for 2026–2027, allocating €14 billion to support research and innovation aligned with the EU’s strategic priorities. The programme aims to advance climate neutrality, strengthen the use of artificial intelligence in research and innovation, and enhance Europe’s resilience in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing global environment.

The Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026–2027 is based on the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025–2027, adopted in March 2024. It was co-created by European Commission services and co-designed in close collaboration with Member States, countries associated with Horizon Europe, the European Parliament, and more than 2,000 stakeholders and citizens. This is the last work programme in the programming period 2021-2027.
